DC Eats: The New Cities Restaurant
Cities Restaurant has chosen a new location in close proximity to their original spot. They are now located at 1909 K Street NW where they have a much bigger space. The ambiance is nice and exudes a relaxed energy, so don’t feel obligated to dress up. While there, I was able to try out their new menu which was nothing short of amazing. They say they will be changing the drink menu and introducing an extensive wine selection but I won’t spill too many details about that.
I started by chatting with the chef of Cities Restaurant. It’s safe to say that Chef Marcial Umana puts his heart into every plate. The menu features foods from various parts of the world such as Argentina, Peru, Spain, Italy, and many others. The menu was made to be consumer friendly, as some eateries have pages of food which can easily cause confusion. The restaurant receives daily deliveries which contain fresh ingredients for the different menu items. Chef Umana oversees each dish with the guarantee of consistency regardless of the flow of traffic throughout the restaurant.
